What started out as a hobby for me has become my passion. I remember my first camera, a Polaroid Instamatic, given to me by my Mom as a gift. Back then, the film was expensive and she couldn’t afford to keep me supplied with film. A few years later I bought my first camera, a Minolta X700, and taught myself composition, use of apertures and reaction of film speed. And then came the digital era. I now own and shoot with strictly Canon. I currently use a Canon 50-D and have various lens and filters which include Tamron and Canon. I am an electrician by day and photographer by night.
One of my major influences is Ansel Adams. I admire his large format work and use of composition. As much as I would love to endeavor in medium to large format photography, there is a price tag that goes along with it. So for now, I will continue trying to master the art of digital photography. I feel as though every day is a continuing education for me in this field. With HDR photography on the rise, it has been my most recent challenge. New doors have opened in the HDR realm.
I have been fortunate enough now to have two published photographs. My first published photo Easter Bouquet appears in the 2007 Photographer’s Forum Coffee Table Book. My second published photo appears in the April 2009 Issue of ShutterBug Magazine-Talking Pictures. Other online websites that I actively exhibit my work are: Flickr, RedBubble and JPG.
This website is a continuation of my first site. I credit the design, layout and laborious detail of the website to my wife Cathy. Her support and belief in my talent keeps me going forward. And special thanks to Anthony Portuesi for his IT skills and support. Thank you to Maria Elmiger for my logo design. Without their generosity this website would not of been possible. I hope you enjoy my website and see the beauty and uniqueness of what I see through the lens. After all, the purpose of a photographer is to capture a moment in time that no one else can see at that exact moment.
